The ranking should make sense when you look at the math. Here’s what to expect from our small beta.
You should be able to check our work. We rank plans by estimated annual cost for your usage, not by what benefits us. Your report will show the numbers behind the ranking, with the provider’s Electricity Facts Label (EFL) as the source. A plan that doesn’t pay us can still rank first.
Reports are free, no strings: no switching required, no signup, and never a card. The benefit to us, aside from helping you, is knowing this works. If we ever earn from it, we’ll say how, and it won’t change the ranking.
Power to Choose lets you compare plans using sample usage amounts. Those samples may not match your home. We look at your bill and compare plans against how you actually use power, including bill credits and other terms that can change your yearly cost.
We use it to understand your usage, current plan, and contract end date so we can put together your report. A bill can also contain private details like your address and account number. Please send it only to [email protected], not the general contact address. We won’t sell your bill.
We look at the fee for leaving early along with any possible savings. Sometimes the better call is to wait until the contract ends. Your report will say so when that’s what the numbers show.
It’s an estimate, not a guaranteed bill. We use the usage you share and the providers’ published plan terms, including their EFLs. Rates, taxes, fees, and your future usage can change the actual amount. Read the provider’s EFL before you enroll.
The small beta is for Oncor customers only right now. We plan to add CenterPoint (Houston), AEP Texas, and TNMP. If you’re not in the Oncor area yet, please hold off on sending your bill.
We read your bill and email back a report ranking the plans at your address against your usage. We’re doing this by hand in a small beta, so we aren’t promising a fixed turnaround time yet. You decide whether to switch.
